Timothy Rugg was born February 14, 1969 in Santa Rosa, California.  His father’s career was the ARMY and his mother stayed at home to handle six children, Tim being number four.  At the age of 12 the ARMY moved the family, except one, to Vancouver, Washington where his parents raised five kids in a suburb 10 minutes outside of Vancouver.  In high school, Tim participated in Track and Field, Concert Choir, and Jazz Choir while serving the community as a Volunteer Firefighter at the age of 16.  After graduating high school, Tim entered the work force dealing in auto body parts as a delivery driver, shipping/receiving clerk, and then working up to salesman.

During Tim’s employment as a salesman he was introduced to the world of films through extra work on HEAR NO EVIL in Portland, Oregon, soon after Tim enrolled in acting classes with Academy One.  Life took a different turn for Tim after graduating from Academy One, derailing his interest for voice acting ultimately putting things on hold for a number of years as he pursued a career in fire-fighting. In 1998, Tim became a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines and leaving his comfortable surroundings in Washington.  Even as Tim was working as a flight attendant he just couldn’t shake one of his dreams to be a firefighter keeping him involved with it on two fronts, Washington and Michigan.

Tim managed to keep residency in Washington while living in Michigan which gave him the opportunity to work as a volunteer firefighter when he went back to Washington eleven days a month leaving him the other nineteen days for fighting fires in Michigan when he was not flying.  In 1999 Tim was fortunate enough to become a full-time career firefighter for Ann Arbor to the present date while attending the Michigan Actors Studio in 2009 and the Purple Rose Theatre Company in 2010.  Tim has also been able to find time to be an extra on numerous feature films and work on his acting craft picking up supporting, co-starring, and starring roles along the way.  In Tim’s spare time, he can be found spending it with his wife mountain biking, on roller blades, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, dabbling in photography, and attending the Vittles Club.
